Background:
Robert Kirk is a Florida Supreme Court certified Circuit Court mediator and a Florida Department of Financial Services approved mediator. Prior to becoming a mediator Robert had a very diverse 36-year legal career. After graduation from law school, he became a Law Clerk for the Honorable John M. Scheb of the Florida Second District Court of Appeal. Thereafter he was a civil litigation attorney at several law firms including Kimbrell and Hamann, P.A. and Fowler, White, Burnett, Hurley, Banick & Strickroot, P.A. Most recently Robert completed a 29-year career at Carnival Cruise Line as Vice President of Legal Services. Robert’s responsibilities included the oversight of passenger and shipboard employee litigation including State and Federal Court cases and arbitration matters. This litigation involved a wide variety of claims including negligence, premises liability, medical malpractice, workplace injuries, sexual assault, employment claims, wrongful death, fraud, breach of contract and property damage. During his expansive career Robert has been responsible for or has overseen the resolution of thousands of cases. As a former corporate insider, he has unique and extensive experience with corporate decision making, risk management policies and priorities, and case assessments. As a mediator he can now utilize this rare background and knowledge to get cases resolved.
